REGULARS at a local eatery in USJ17 will have to look for a temporary hangout to have their favourite meal for a few days following a fire that broke out last night (Sept 30) at around 10pm.
The fire which was suspected to have started in the kitchen was extinguished by workers which prevented further damage to the shop.
“The fire was already extinguished when we arrived. Firemen carried out a thorough check and doused the embers from the fire.”
“The damage was confined to the kitchen. There was no structural damage and no one was injured in the incident,” he said, adding that the Fire & Rescue Department would carry out an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
