SUBANG JAYA, FEB 8 2021: SUBANG Jaya OCPD ACP Abd Khalid Othman is appealing to Subang Jaya residents to adhere strictly to the SOPs especially during the upcoming Chinese New Year.

He said this was not only to avoid being slapped with compounds but more importantly to ensure residents remained safe from Covid-19.

“We have observed more people at public places especially at the wet markets and supermarkets. Many are out buying provisions and stocking up for the upcoming festival.”

“It is important that residents take responsibility of their own safety by observing the SOPs strictly and not to compromise themselves, “he said.

Abd Khalid said police officers had been mobilised to monitor the situation on the ground especially in places where there is high traffic.

“At the wet market in SS15 yesterday morning the crowd was larger than usual as it is the last Sunday before Chinese New Year and many took the opportunity to come out to buy their groceries.”

“Our officers warned many traders and also shoppers who did not wear their face masks properly or had not scanned the MySejahtera QR code before entering the market,” he said.

According to Abd Khalid, police officers on their patrols had been given strict orders to issue compounds for non-compliance of SOPs.

“We are in this pandemic together. Let us work together and take on the responsibility together to fight this deadly disease.”

“Let’s keep Subang Jaya safe,” he added.

Abd Khalid also took the opportunity to wish Subang Jaya residents a Happy Chinese New Year.

“GONG XI FA CAI to the Chinese community in Subang Jaya who will be celebrating the New Year this February 12. May you be showered with good health and be safe always.”

“And to everyone else, have a happy holiday,” he said.
