Ailing Kids Get Their Wishes Fulfilled in December 2020

THE Conditional Movement Control Order did not deter members of the Children’s Wish Society of Malaysia from moving speedily to fulfil the wishes of two ailing children on the last month of 2020.

Cancer-stricken Muhammad Hamizan Ashari who lives in Kg Budiman Meru in Kapar is now spending more fun times with his siblings after receiving his wish for a game console from the society.

Despite being dependent on oxygen and lying on his bed, Muhammad Hamizan immediately cheered up when his visitors brought him a PS4 Pro unit with a 32 inch TV that he had wished for. The teenager suffers from Ewing Sarcoma (bone cancer) which has spread to his lungs. Muhammad Hamizan first found out he had cancer when he was 14-years-old. His condition relapsed in August 2019 and ever since then he has responded poorly to treatment.

In his excitement, the young boy was gasping for air momentarily but soon recovered his composure to continue playing games on his new console while being watched by his mother and grandmother by his bedside.

Over in Putrajaya 12-year-old Alya Adrian Mohd Hanif managed a smile when she received several dolls and soft toys from members of CWS Malaysia who paid her a short visit recently.

The ailing girl suffers from liver failure and has spent her time in and out of hospital for treatment. Her interest in dolls and soft toys sparked the wish her mother made for her to the society.

She immediately took to the pony while keeping her Rapunzel and Troll dolls close by.

CWS Malaysia vice-president TH Teoh who visited Muhammad Hamizan and Alya Adrian at their homes with several board members of the society said upon receiving the wishes from the hospital where the two were being treated, the society immediately mobilised to fulfil their wishes.

“The smiles both children managed when we joked with them almost brought tears to our eyes. We know how much they appreciate the gift just by watching them take to it,” he added.
