TWELVE artistic murals have “landed” in Subang Jaya and they are here to stay.
The murals which were just completed at the beginning of the year now bring a breath of fresh air to the concrete pillars near the SS15 LRT station.
“Sang Seni 15” is the collaborative effort of ADUN Subang Jaya Michelle Ng, Prasarana Malaysia Berhad, BigTree, Land Public Transport Agency and Subang Jaya City Council.
The project cost RM62,500 and is borne by both Michelle’s office and Fitline Sdn Bhd.
“Our objective for this initiative was to support local artists as well as to curb vandalism on the LRT pillars. We hope these murals will improve the surroundings for pedestrians and also road users.”
“SS15 was chosen for the project as the area has been the host for many trends such as cafes, bubble tea and now Chinese hotpots. SS15 is also the hub for youngsters to hang out especially with five colleges and universities around,” she said.
Michelle said “Sang Seni 15” was derived from the area (SS15) and “Sang Seni” honours the mural artists who had contributed to the works of art for the project.
