Buddhist Temple for Putra Heights by 2021

BUDDHISTS, especially those living in Putra Heights will have a temple to practice their faith when the temple which is going to be built over the next two years is completed by 2021.

Putra Heights Buddhist Society chairman Chua Teck Seong said work was underway to build the 4-storey RM5.6mil building along Persiaran Kingsley.

“PHBS has obtained the Majlis Perbandaran Subang Jaya (MPSJ) approvals for Project Development Order and Building Plan in August 2019.”

“We will be starting our fundraising efforts to raise the necessary funds for the building. One of the first major event will be a charity golf tournament we have planned for this November, “ he said in his speech at the ground breaking ceremony for the temple.

The event was attended by Selangor Investment, Industry & Commerce, Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) and Transportation Committee chairperson Dato Teng Chang Khim, Datuk Kirinde Dhammaratana Nayaka Maha Thero, the chief incumbent of Buddhist Maha Vihara, Brickfields and Subang Jaya Buddhist Association chairman Chim Siew Choon.

Chua said the temple is pragmatically designed to additionally provide a conducive environment for Primary Buddhist Education, Youth Development, Social & Cultural Activities, Physical & Health Promoting and Lifelong Education Endeavours.

“The society is a community-based Buddhist Fellowship serving Buddhists in Putra Heights, Alam Megah (Sek 27/28 Shah Alam), parts of Puchong and USJ Subang Jaya,” he said.
