LITTERING has become too much of a bad habit that’s hard to shake off in Subang Jaya. Road shoulders and drains especially those in commercial areas are a testament to that.
Residents of USJ9 through their Rukun Tetangga and Residents Association took on the task of cleaning up the streets along the commercial zone last month. With help from MBSJ’s MPP Zon 3 and in partnership with Earth Warriors Association, volunteers from the community spent the morning walking the streets and picking up trash.
Volunteers picked up quite a fair bit of trash – glass and plastic bottles; plastic food containers; used tissue, cigarette butts; illegal buntings and more along their path.
MPP Zon 3 councillor Ken Chia who led the initiative was actively picking up trash especially from the drains.
