Construction of New Flyover across Kewajipan Has Started

CONSTRUCTION of the much-awaited RM51.5mil flyover to alleviate traffic congestion from Persiaran Subang Permai in USJ1 to Persiaran Kewajipan has begun.

Work had started since June this year and the project is expected to be fully completed by June 2025 according to the Subang Jaya City Council. The flyover is expected to help ease traffic coming from USJ1 and heading towards Persiaran Kewajipan.

According to MBSJ MPP Zone 4 councillor Kamarul Hisham, Phase 1 of the construction will begin at USJ2.

“You will notice that the trees along the stretch of road in USJ2 parallel to Persiaran Kewajipan have been felled. This will be the alignment of the flyover when it gradually comes down to Persiaran Kewajipan.”

“Construction of Phase 2 will be at the Mydin-Giant stretch,” he said.

According to Kamarul, construction of the middle span which comes under Phase 3 will only begin once the new exit to Kesas Highway at the other end of Persiaran Subang Permai was completed.

“Construction of Phase 3 will also only be allowed to begin once two new access roads (Persiaran Datuk Bandar 1 & 2) which cuts across the Sime Darby Property land between Persiaran Subang-Persiaran Kewajipan are completed.”

“This will help ease traffic especially during the construction of the flyover,” he added.

Kamarul said the new flyover would be built under the LRT line and the pedestrian bridge connecting USJ7 and DM Mall will be dismantled.
