HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
A brand-New Year means brand new resolutions for the next 365 days of 2025. Normally, that would be the case for any “normal” situation but in the case of Subang Jaya, we have many “waiting to be resolved or to be started” projects that’s in the pipeline.
Here’s a quick list of what’s pending since last year (and the year before):
- The construction of the Klinik Kesihatan in USJ1 which is expected to start in March this year;
- The traffic dispersal flyover from Persiaran Subang Permai in USJ1 to Persiaran Kewajipan;
- The proposed flyover from Jalan Lagoon Selatan to the Kelana-Subang Link over Persiaran Kewajipan.
- The RM2.74mil National Water Services Commission (SPAN) project to repair and upgrade the sewerage system along Jalan SS15/4 & SS15/8.
Will these projects start or be completed this year? Netizens have been having a field day exchanging thoughts and opinions on the progress or fate of these projects.
We hear the flyover from Persiaran Subang Permai and the upgrading works of the sewerage system in SS15 has hit a snag. Is it true? We’ve not been able to get any latest information from the authorities at this point but we definitely will pursue it till we get some answers.
The New Year provides us all a fresh start and a clean perspective of things that have accumulated on our plates. It gives us an opportunity to right the wrong of the year that was; and to make better efforts in the New Year.
I have resolved that this year, I will not tackle issues with the attitude that I am always right and the person I am speaking to is always wrong. I cannot claim to know everything and that the things I do are always right for the people around me.
I want to listen more; talk less. I want to humble myself to be able to accept that perhaps what people are saying could be the right way to handle a situation in hand. I want to believe that I can learn by listening to the vibrations on the ground and not just stubbornly stick to my own views. After all, as the Chinese saying goes “That man has taken more salt than the rice that you have eaten”.
Perhaps if I listen more and accept differing views, I can earn the trust of the people around me. Perhaps they will learn to like the new me and forgive me for being so arrogant and stubborn in the last year. Maybe just maybe, I might regain some respect from those who had distanced themselves from me because of my own folly.
I ask myself if the above resolutions are humanly possible. YES! They are if we want it and desire it. Let’s get started.
Subang Jaya is going to be abuzz again as we make our baby steps into the New Year. With the Lunar New Year just weeks away, everyone, everywhere and everything will be on hyper-drive.
Chinese New Year decorations for sale are starting to make their appearance in shopping malls and shops. Homeowners have started cleaning their homes and some have even started giving their house a new coat of paint. Soon, we will hear the familiar Chinese New Years being played (if they have not already) in malls we visit.
Offerings and promotions for reunion dinner menus had started back in December and this is expected to get more exciting as the weeks becomes days towards the festive celebrations.
Residents will be making plans to return to their hometowns for their ritual reunion with family and friends. Subang Jaya is expected to quieten down during this period, giving some respite to those who decided to stay put and not travel.
As we ready ourselves for the hustle and bustle of the Lunar New Year, let’s not forget the resolutions we make for the New Year of 2025.
