MATHIAS PONG LU SHEN made a spontaneous decision to go bald to Feed the Hunger in Subang Jaya after being cooped up at his home in Sitiawan, Perak for 39 days running.
The moment he received a call from his friend Thim Chan in Subang Jaya, he gathered a few pledges from his friends and immediately shaved off his crown.
Mathias, 31 raised RM310 for his shave!! The funds will be channeled to Lions Club Subang Jaya for their Feed the Hunger programme which is an ongoing initiative serving up more than 1,000 meals for dinner daily to the poor and needy in the township.
“I decided to take up the challenge to go bald when I got a call from Thim. The weather has been hot and my hair was getting long and annoying.”
“All the barbers and hair saloons are closed during the MCO. So I decided why not?” he said.
Mathias claims this was the easiest and most convenient hairstyle under the present circumstances.
This father-to-be has been keeping himself occupied by doing a bit of cooking, baking and buying groceries for the home.
He entertains himself watching his cats play around and has night “meetings” with his friends over a drink and snacks.
Mathias also helps around the house by pressing “start” on his robot vacuum while working from home.
“I’ve been busy preparing for the arrival of my newborn,” he said.
