Heartwarming Iftar at Surau Al-Huda: Wong Chen Joins Residents, Firefighters & Police for a Meaningful Ramadan Evening

It was a night filled with warmth, unity, and laughter at Surau Al-Huda in SS13, as the local Muslim community gathered for a special iftar that saw both residents and community leaders coming together to break fast.

The evening became extra memorable when Subang Member of Parliament Wong Chen joined in, sharing moments of fellowship with residents, firemen, and police officers who came together for the meaningful occasion. Firefighters from the SS17 Subang Jaya Fire & Rescue Department and officers from Subang Jaya and Bandar Sunway police stations were also part of the cheerful gathering, adding to the strong sense of togetherness.

Everyone enjoyed hearty servings of packed meals prepared by Kesum Kitchen, a concept introduced by Pandan MP Rafizi Ramli to support local, wholesome community meals. Children could be seen smiling ear to ear as they tucked into their meals, while the adults shared stories, laughter, and the spirit of Ramadan.

In a thoughtful gesture, Wong Chen presented RM5,000 to Surau Al-Huda to support its community activities and another RM1,000 for the bubur lambuk that was served for the breaking of fast, much to the delight of the volunteers who had been stirring the iconic porridge all day long.

The event wrapped up with prayers, gratitude, and a heartfelt sense of unity that perfectly captured the spirit of Ramadan; one where everyone, regardless of background, came together as one community.
