It’s finally happening. The long-awaited Klinik Kesihatan USJ1 has officially entered the construction phase.
If you’ve driven past the project site along the main road in USJ1 recently, you would have noticed a hive of activity with land clearing works underway and a large project signboard now greets passersby. After more than a decade of campaigning, six health ministers, and multiple delays, the wheels are finally in motion.
The “Jenis 2” Klinik Kesihatan, essentially a mini-hospital is expected to take 24 months to complete and will be able to serve up to 800 patients a day once operational. It will house outpatient and emergency departments, a drive-thru pharmacy, imaging services, maternal and child healthcare, dental, pathology, and rehabilitation facilities.
Member of Parliament for Subang Wong Chen, who announced the tender award just weeks ago, had described the moment as a “major win for Subang Jaya,” thanking Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and the Madani Government for delivering on a long-standing promise.
Now that physical work has begun, residents are getting a tangible glimpse of what’s to come.
The clinic will sit on a 4.2-acre site about the size of two football fields and will include 160 parking bays (with spaces for OKU), a dedicated ambulance garage, and motorcycle parking.
Residents nearby have expressed optimism and relief that the project has finally moved beyond the talking stage. With groundwork underway and machines on site, the long-held vision of having a public healthcare facility in Subang Jaya is taking real shape.
