The Lions Club of Subang Jaya (LCSJ) celebrated its 43rd anniversary, in August 2025, with the installation of Lion YC Tan as president for the 2025/2026 term at a formal dinner attended by about 300 guests, including Subang Member of Parliament Wong Chen and senior Lions dignitaries.
Since its founding in 1982, the Club has maintained a proud record of never re-cycling a president. Three of its original founding members remain active today, guiding a membership of about 50 Lions.
LCSJ’s community outreach has long included strong youth development through its multiple Leo Clubs across Subang Jaya schools. These programs offer leadership experience and service opportunities to young Leo members, many of whom have returned to serve as Lions in the club.
The Club is also known for several signature service projects. The food bank at SMK USJ 8, funded and maintained by the Club, supports students in need throughout the year. Its Sight First program screens vision and donates prescription spectacles to students, ensuring no child’s education is hindered by poor eyesight. Regular blood donation drives remain a key fixture, providing a steady contribution to the national blood bank.
As Lion YC Tan takes the helm, the Club reaffirms its mission to serve the community through sustainable projects, youth leadership development, and steadfast fellowship, continuing a tradition that has defined the Lions Club of Subang Jaya for more than four decades.
