MALAYSIANS love to eat and their favourite indulgence is the Nasi Lemak. But how many know how to cook it themselves at home?
Twenty five ladies from Subang Jaya got an insight into how to prepare an awesome helping of Nasi Lemak for their families or even to start up their own stall to sell their offerings.
Organised by MBSJ’s MPP Zon 4, the morning class started from scratch, from how to cook the rice with coconut milk and the finer points in making sure the santan laden rice turns out aromatic and irresistible.
The sambal accompaniment is just as important for the Nasi Lemak. The participants were taught how to prepare the basic sambal as well as sambal sotong as an added item to include in their lessons for the day.
The final touch to the class was a hands on lesson on how to wrap the nasi lemak and condiments in banana leaf and paper, just like how other nasi lemak sellers do it.
