LOWER income Chinese families in Subang Jaya received festive Chinese New Year goodies and angpow from the Subang Jaya City Council last month.
A total of 120 families in the B40 category received their hampers and angpow from MBSJ mayor Dato Johary Anuar through their respective councilors in the 24 zones under the city council.
“We allocated for 5 families in each of the 24 zones to receive the Chinese New Year gifts from MBSJ. Recipients include senior citizens, single mothers and persons with disabilities.”
“We hope this will bring some joy to the Chinese families in Subang Jaya. Two of MBSJ’s Chinese staff also received the hampers and angpow,” Dato Johary said.
The items were handed over to councilors on the eve of Chap Goh Meh, the 15th day of Chinese New Year.
