MORE than 1,000 residents took time off their weekend to celebrate Malaysia Day at the ADUN Subang Jaya Pesta Hari Malaysia celebrations last month.
The crowd started streaming in to Summit USJ as early as 5pm for the evening celebrations although the official program was 6pm. People from all walks of life – adults with kids; senior citizens with grandchildren and young people started coming in to enjoy the wide variety of food available from the hawker stalls which had set up for the occasion.
While tucking in their favourite food, residents were entertained with a continuous flow of vibrant cultural performances which went on into the night. Despite having to move indoors because of the rain that came, residents stayed on till late as performances kept them glued to their seats.
Lucky draws throughout the evening all kept everyone all excited as they waited in anticipation for their numbers to be called.
Later in the evening both ADUN Subang Jaya Michelle Ng and Subang MP Wong Chen wowed the crowd when they showed off their skills at the blowpipe which was part of the Bornean dancers’ performance.
