The incident according to Fire & Rescue Department SS17 station chief Muhammad Iskandar Zul Akbar Abdul Aziz unfolded when the station received a call for help at 9.18am.

“Within minutes firemen arrived at the location and immediately evacuated the mother and child from the room upstairs.”

“The living room of the house was ablaze. Furniture in the living room was on fire and smoke had made its way to the rooms upstairs,” he said.
