MOTHER & CHILD SAVED FROM FIRE AT SS19

SUBANG JAYA, FEBRUARY 19 2025: A mother and her teenage son escaped unhurt when a fire that broke out at their home in SS19 left them trapped upstairs momentarily this morning.

The incident according to Fire & Rescue Department SS17 station chief Muhammad Iskandar Zul Akbar Abdul Aziz unfolded when the station received a call for help at 9.18am.

“Within minutes firemen arrived at the location and immediately evacuated the mother and child from the room upstairs.”

“The living room of the house was ablaze. Furniture in the living room was on fire and smoke had made its way to the rooms upstairs,” he said.

Muhammad Iskandar said firemen managed to rescue the duo and immediately attended to extinguishing the fire.

“We are glad that we were able to save the mother and son.”

“Both suffered some smoke inhalation but were otherwise unhurt,” he said.

Muhammad Iskandar urged residents to install smoke detectors in their homes to provide an early warning system in the event of a fire.

“Wireless smoke detectors are cost effective and easy to install. They can help save lives,” he added.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
