Mydin Mohamed Holdings Berhad, MYDIN, recently unveiled its Deepavali celebration programme with the theme “Warna Warni Deepavali.” The programme was inaugurated by Selangor EXCO for Human Resources and Poverty Eradication Papparaidu Veraman, at MYDIN Subang Jaya.

The programme that will run until the end of November will see MYDIN and Taaka Lee Studio host the ‘Bombay Bazaar,’ featuring a variety of promotions on Indian traditional foods and clothing.

In addition to that, there will be cultural performances, music, and exquisite ‘kolam’ decorations to add to the festive atmosphere. The ‘Bombay Bazaar’ will set out to meet customers at MYDIN MITC (Melaka), Seremban (Negeri Sembilan), Jasin (Melaka), Subang Jaya (Selangor), and Ipoh (Perak).

MYDIN, at the same time, has collaborated with Trichy and Chef Dave, a social media influencer, to introduce the ‘Paati Veedu’ video series, showcasing 15 vegetarian recipes in 15 days. This initiative aims to highlight the uniqueness of traditional Indian cuisine, while customers could purchase the cooking essentials at MYDIN Malaysia TikTok Shop.

MCash is also offering a cashback of RM10 to MCash users who spend RM100 on a single receipt at Mydin.

Celebrating the colours of Deepavali with the underprivileged, MYDIN, through its MYDIN Prihatin Corporate Social Responsibility band, together with suppliers such as Apurva Garden Tea, Medimix, Barnsberry, Bestari, Beeqeh, Buttercup, Enricos, Energizer, Fogg, Kawan, Sunrise Sunglow, Tisha’s, and more, donated sums of funds from the purchase of selected brands with 500 Rahmah baskets to be distributed to the Indian underprivileged communities in Subang Jaya, Desa Mentari PPR, Taman Medan (Selangor), Seremban (Negeri Sembilan), MITC (Melaka), and Kulai (Johor).

The stability and prosperity we attained today are the result of tolerance and cooperation from all races, which has enabled us to celebrate this significant cultural festival. Malaysia’s ability to prosper while many countries grapple with racial issues is a testament to our cultural diversity, which is an integral part of our national heritage. Let us all take pride in it,” expressed Datuk Wira (Dr) Haji Ameer Ali Mydin, Managing Director of MYDIN.

This campaign will run until November 30, 2023. For further details on the campaign, visit MYDIN Malaysia’s official social media platforms or website at
