Mydin Sets Malaysia Book of Records for the Most ‘Dragon’ Paper Crafts Distributed in a Day

A total of 102,064 ‘Dragon’ Paper Crafts soared into the Malaysia Book of Records for the Most “Dragon” Paper Crafts Distributed for Mydin Mohamed Holdings Berhad on February 1 2024.

The mammoth task which was carried out by Mydin in conjunction with its Chinese New Year “Kongsi Meriah” campaign across the country earned them the accolades for distributing as well as having the dragon “origami” assembled by the recipients who included students from kindergarten, primary and secondary schools.

Mydin executive director Ahimmat Mydin received the certificate from the Malaysia Book of Records official. With him were National Unity Minister Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang, Deputy National Unity Minister K. Saraswathy, Subang MP Wong Chen and ADUN Subang Jaya Michelle Ng.

Over in Subang Jaya, students from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Seafied USJ2, Sekolah Kebangsaan USJ2, SJK (C) Chee Wen USJ1 and Tadika Nemo Bestari SS14 participated in the effort.

Students and teachers alike excitedly participated in putting together the “dragons” as a show of solidarity and unity for the upcoming Chinese New Year celebrations. Mydin’s managing director Datuk Wira (Dr) Ameer Ali Mydin and his wife Datin Wira (Dr) Siti Hawa Mohd spent their morning at the schools to join in the fun activity.

At the launch of the “Kongsi Meriah” campaign, Aaron also handed out Bakul Rahmah Mydin to about 20 less fortunate families. Five hundred families will benefit from this effort across Selangor, Melaka and Johor.
