Subang Jaya’s fire station in SS17 has a new man at the helm, and he’s bringing both experience and a people-first approach to the role.
Balai Bomba dan Penyelamat Subang Jaya officially welcomed its new officer-in-charge, Ahmad Fairuz Bin Kamsari, who took over operations on June 3, 2026, succeeding Muhammad Iskandar Zul Akbar Abdul Aziz.
At 41, Ahmad Fairuz is no stranger to the demands of frontline emergency service. With 18 years in the Fire & Rescue Department under his belt, including a decade serving in Kuala Lumpur across Pantai, Pudu, and Sungai Besi stations, he steps into the SS17 role with a clear mission.
“My main priority is to continue the tradition of working closely with the community in Subang Jaya and share our knowledge with them,” he told SJ Echo in his first interview.
Beyond maintaining strong community ties, he is also focused on strengthening his team from within.
“On top of that, I will be focusing on upgrading my team’s skills and knowledge to boost their morale, which in turn will help us work with the community better,” he added.
Originally from Batu Pahat, Johor, Ahmad Fairuz is a family man with three young sons aged 12, 9, and 5. Despite having a home in Hulu Langat, he commutes daily to Subang Jaya – a commitment that reflects his dedication both to duty and family.
Looking ahead, Ahmad Fairuz plans to introduce a stronger emphasis on the C4I concept – Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence – a framework commonly used in public safety operations to ensure faster, smarter, and more coordinated responses on the ground.
For Subang Jaya residents, this could mean improved emergency responsiveness and better integration between the fire department and the community it serves.
With his mix of operational experience, leadership focus, and community-driven mindset, Ahmad Fairuz’s appointment marks a new chapter for the SS17 fire station.
