Nigel Boey takes helm as Dorsett Grand Subang general manager

Dorsett Grand Subang has appointed hospitality industry veteran Nigel Boey as its new general manager, effective Sept 1.

Boey brings more than 16 years of experience in the hospitality sector, having held positions with major international groups including Las Vegas Sands, Marriott International, Millennium & Copthorne International and Pan Pacific Hotels Group.

Before joining Dorsett Grand Subang, he served as assistant general manager at UOL Group Limited. He previously spent two years as commercial director of PARKROYAL COLLECTION Marina Bay Singapore.

The roles strengthened his expertise in commercial strategy, revenue management, business development and hotel operations.

Boey said his varied experience had given him a broader understanding of the hospitality business and deepened his appreciation of the industry’s different demands.

“I am especially excited to return to property operations, where I can work closely with the team, drive meaningful change and see first-hand the positive impact of our collective efforts on both guests and colleagues,” he said.

He said Dorsett Grand Subang’s strong foundations and growth potential attracted him to the new appointment.

Having stayed at the property as a guest before joining the hotel, Boey said he saw an opportunity to build on its existing strengths and lead it into a new chapter.

“What attracted me to this appointment was the tremendous potential I saw in the hotel. With the right investments, vision and team, I believe the hotel is poised for an exciting new chapter,” he said.

As general manager, Boey will oversee the hotel’s overall operations and strategic direction, with priorities including commercial performance, guest experience and team development.

He also indicated that several developments were in the pipeline, although details had yet to be announced.

“There are many exciting developments on the horizon and while I cannot reveal too much just yet, I can say that guests, associates and the local community can look forward to some very positive changes. Watch this space,” he said.

Boey said commercial performance and guest experience were closely connected, adding that exceptional service, engaged employees and strong guest loyalty were important to a hotel’s long-term success.

“Hospitality is ultimately about people. Buildings, facilities and technology are important, but it is the connections we create, the memories we deliver and the passion of our people that truly define a great hotel,” he said.

Outside work, Boey enjoys badminton, tennis and running. He also values spending time with family and friends, discovering new experiences and continuing to learn.
