Dorsett Grand Subang came alive with the colours, flavours and charm of Peranakan heritage as it hosted the International Baba & Nyonya Cultural Conference 2025, a three-day gathering that drew associations and culture bearers dedicated to preserving the iconic Straits-Chinese identity.
As the official hotel partner, Dorsett Grand Subang welcomed delegates from 21 to 23 November with a warm embrace of tradition — from décor inspired by classic Nyonya motifs to the unmistakable aroma of heirloom dishes wafting through the lobby.

A Weekend Hi-Tea That Stole the Show
The star attraction was undoubtedly the Baba & Nyonya Weekend Hi-Tea at Terazza Brasserie, where the hotel curated a spread of traditional favourites that evoked memories of Penang, Melaka and Singapore’s old-town kitchens. Guests tucked into aromatic curries, hand-crafted kuehs and classic Peranakan comfort food, each dish paying homage to generations of recipes.
The reception was overwhelming — so much so that the hotel has extended the hi-tea offering to the public until 31 December 2025.
