Police Probe Viral Video of Cars Blocking Ambulance on KESAS Highway

Subang Jaya police have launched an investigation after a viral TikTok video showed two vehicles allegedly blocking an ambulance on the KESAS Highway, drawing strong reactions from netizens concerned about deteriorating road courtesy.

The 17-second clip, posted by user @azmanroy85, shows the ambulance stuck behind two cars on the rightmost lane despite its sirens blaring. The incident is believed to have taken place on Monday afternoon along KM 36.3 of the highway, heading towards Klang.

According to Subang Jaya OCPD ACP Wan Azlan Wan Mamat, the ambulance was on its way to Sentosa Hospital Klang to pick up a patient suffering from high fever when its path was obstructed.

“The driver reported that both vehicles ahead failed to give way, causing delays at a time when every minute is critical,” Wan Azlan said in a statement today.

The ambulance driver was unable to capture the number plates due to the fast-moving traffic, and the case is now being investigated under Rule 9(2) LN 166/59 for failing to give way to emergency vehicles.

Police are calling on witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.

Members of the public may contact Investigating Officer Inspector Mohd Azizul Hakim Roslan at 011-28914495. “All information will be treated confidentially,” Wan Azlan assured.

The incident has reignited public discussion on road awareness and the importance of yielding to emergency responders — a recurring issue highlighted by local communities and authorities alike.
