Proud Moment for Senior Learners at Chinese Class Graduation

True to the spirit of life-long learning, members of the Senior Citizens Club Subang Jaya’s Chinese Class celebrated a proud milestone recently with the graduation of their Level 4 Hanyu students.

The students, many of whom began their journey with little to no knowledge of the language, took to the stage with newfound confidence – speaking and reading Chinese fluently before their peers. Their Laoshi, Tan Pin Tin, could not hide her pride and admiration as each of her students received their certificates.

“This group has shown remarkable perseverance and enthusiasm. They remind us that it’s never too late to learn,” said Tan, who has been guiding the class through the various levels over the years.

Club president Oon Woo Ming, who was present to celebrate the occasion, commended the students for their determination and camaraderie. “Their achievement is a testament to the power of community learning and mutual encouragement,” he said.

Also joining in the celebration was MBSJ MPP Zone 3 Councillor Ken Chia, who congratulated the graduates and lauded the club’s efforts in promoting active ageing through educational and social programmes.

The event concluded with smiles, applause, and a renewed sense of purpose – proving once again that learning truly has no age limit.
