READY FOR SCHOOL WITH NEW SHOES

MORE than 200 students will head back to school in the new term with sparkling white shoes thanks to an initiative by MBSJ MPP Zone 4.

Students from underprivileged homes received their shoes from the sponsor GPS Telematics Malaysia Sdn Bhd during a simple ceremony last month.

Two hundred and eight pairs of shoes were handed over to students from Angsana Flats in USJ1, Rumah Kids USJ1 and Rumah Kids Klang.

Jointly organised with Lions Club Subang Jaya, Leo Clubs of Subang Jaya Alumni, Sri Kuala Lumpur and USJ8, the effort was to make sure students had new pairs of shoes to start their new term this month.

Earlier at Rumah Kids USJ1, the children and their caregivers were treated to lunch by Kawasan Rukun Tetangga USJ6 who surprised them with fast food just before Christmas.

MBSJ MPP Zone 4 councillor Kamarul Hisham was on hand to help during the shoes fitting sessions.
