SUBANG JAYA’s Community Ambulance received a RM37,000 boost from two temples and a residents association in Bandar Sunway in conjunction with the Chinese New Year Chap Goh Meh and Thaipusam.
The cheque presentation ceremony which took place at Guan Di Temple and Sri Subramaniar Temple in Bandar Sunway was all the more significant as it took place on two auspicious events at the two temples which are located side-by-side.
The paramedics also received another RM2,000 from Dato Manivasagan who is also chairman for the PJS7 Residents Association.
“Words cannot express our gratitude for this meaningful boost for our service to the community, especially on such auspicious occasions which the two temples are celebrating.”
“The emergency cases that our unit attends to almost doubled last year compared to 2020,” he said.
Teoh said the community ambulance which provides free services for emergency cases in Subang Jaya had recorded 557 cases in 2020; 1008 cases in 2021 and 1026 cases in 2022.
“Medical emergency cases have risen over the last few years. That also translates to rising costs as we take on more cases to save lives in the community.”
“We need caring organisations to help us keep this service going and to help us save more lives,” he said.
