If you think only youngsters know how to show up and show out—think again. Members of the Senior Citizens Club Subang Jaya (SCCSJ) came dressed to the nines for their annual appreciation lunch held just before Chinese New Year, and the result was nothing short of a festive fashion parade.
The venue lit up in a bold sea of red as senior ladies and gentlemen arrived looking ready for celebrations complete with bright outfits, big energy, and plenty of “Ong Ong” spirit in the air. It wasn’t just a lunch; it felt like a full-on New Year warm-up, where everyone came to makan, catch up, and celebrate another meaningful year together.
Adding to the excitement, three Majlis Bandaraya Subang Jaya (MBSJ) councillors were present to join the crowd: Ken Chia (Zon 1), Christopher Joseph (Zon 3), and Zulfadzlee Shah Shaharuddin (Zon 4). Subang Member of Parliament Wong Chen’s officer, LiZhen Ng, also attended, mingling with members and sharing the moment over a meal, making the gathering feel extra warm and community-driven.
SCCSJ President Oon Woo Ming and his committee members played perfect host, making sure guests felt welcomed from start to finish. In his welcoming speech, Oon shared that the club had been busy throughout 2025, with many events and activities organised for members. Even more encouraging, he noted that the club’s membership has grown—proof that more seniors are looking for meaningful connection, movement, and community.
And it doesn’t stop there. Oon also promised even more activities lined up for 2026, giving members more reasons to stay active, engaged, and involved—because retirement isn’t about slowing down, it’s about living well (and showing up in red when the season calls for it).
