SUBANG Jaya Community Ambulance paramedics are constantly on the move responding to medical emergency calls they receive daily.
Being in close proximity with patients all the time means the team is constantly exposed to Covid-19. The team of paramedics have to regularly undergo Covid-19 swab tests to safeguard their health and safety.
“Although they are in full PPE when attending to cases, proactive precautionary measures are essential to regularly check on our paramedics to make sure they are free from the Covid-19 virus,” SJ Community Ambulance operations director Kelvin Chew said.
Last month, five team members including Kelvin underwent their Covid-19 swab test at the Subang Jaya Medical Centre. The tests were sponsored by the hospital as part of their CSR partnership with the community ambulance service.
“Thank you SJMC for extending the swab tests to our paramedics. Your care and support for our team means they have peace of mind when they are at work as well as when they return home to their families after work,” he said.
