SUBANG JAYA, MAY 29 2024: SUBANG JAYA Mayor Dato Mohd Fauzi Mohd Yatim is expected to relinquish his position here and take up his new posting as Mayor of the Shah Alam City Council effective June 4 2024.
Mohd Fauzi has served as Subang Jaya’s Mayor for just slightly over a year. He was sworn in as the city’s third mayor on May 3 2023.
Since Subang Jaya was conferred city status in 2020, it has had two mayors before Mohd Fauzi. They are Selangor Deputy State Secretary (present) Dato Johari Anuar and Klang’s Mayor Datin Paduka Noraini Roslan (present) who was the first mayor of Subang Jaya.
Mohd Fauzi was the Ampang Jaya Municipal Council president since 2020 before promoted to his new position in MBSJ. He also served as the Sepang Municipal Council president from 2019-2020. He was also Hulu Selangor District Officer for four years from 2015-2019.
A new mayor has yet been named to take the helm of Subang Jaya. Sepang Municipal Council president Datuk Abd Hamid Hussain is tipped to the likely candidate.
