SUBANG JAYA, MAY 12 2021: Subang Jaya OCPD ACP Abd Khalid Othman like everyone else across the country is personally steadfast in complying with the Hari Raya-MCO SOPs. This is his first Hari Raya on duty after being posted to helm the Subang Jaya Police District.
While it is important for everyone to adhere to the strict guidelines set by the government for this Hari Raya, Abd Khalid prefers to appeal to the Subang Jaya community especially Muslim families who will be celebrating the festival to always exercise self -discipline and adhere to the Do’s and Don’ts for this period.
“Please cooperate with the authorities and follow the SOPs that have been set for Hari Raya. The police have an obligation to enforce the SOPs that have been set but we prefer that the people of Subang Jaya organize themselves and comply with the SOPs without us having to blame them. ”
“We can still celebrate with our family members regardless of whether they are under the same roof or having to use social media to greet one another especially with family members who are in other districts or States,” he said.
The movement control order (MCO) which took effect today (May 12) does not allow visits or open houses. Those caught organizing open houses can be fined RM25,000 and those who attend the event will be fined RM5,000.
Abd Khalid said he was confident that the Subang Jaya community was mature enough to organize and comply with the MCO during this festive season.
“We will arrange for a police force to patrol the surrounding area to ensure the community complies with the existing rules.
He asked Subang Jaya residents to work with the authorities to curb the spread of Covid-19.
“Let’s work together to keep everyone safe,” he said.
Abd Khalid also took the opportunity to wish all Muslims in Subang Jaya SELAMAT HARI RAYA.
“Let’s celebrate in a safe environment and enjoy the time together with our loved ones in the sanctity of our home,” he said.
