Summit USJ Conducts Fire Drill to Test Out its Emergency Response

THE Summit USJ took on a proactive measure to ensure the safety of shoppers in the event of a real fire or emergency situation by organising a massive fire drill last month.

Combining their efforts with the police, Fire & Rescue Department and other emergency services, the management of the shopping mall “evacuated” close to 1,000 people who were in the mall as well as the adjacent corporate tower.

Mock fires were on the ground floor as well as on the roof top; and “casualties” who had hurt themselves while trying to “escape” the fire were bring brought down one after the other by the rescue teams.

SS17 Fire and Rescue Department chief Syed Shahril Anuar Syed Sulaiman who was present throughout the two-hour fire drill said he was satisfied with the measures taken by the shopping mall team to evacuate the people on time.

The Subang Jaya Community Ambulance was also involved In the drill and paramedics were kept busy attending to “victims”.
