A senior citizen getting her first dose at the hospital
Sunway Medical Centre is bustling with nervous but excited senior citizens, mostly who are over the age of 70 and some are seen on wheelchairs. Having registered earlier via MySejahtera application, their turns have finally come for the much awaited COVID-19 vaccination.
In support of the COVID-19 National Immunisation Programme, Sunway Medical Centre is
proud to be appointed as a Pusat Pemberian Vaksin Hospital Swasta (PPVHS) in Phase Two of the programme rollout. The hospital has officially started vaccinating the public since Monday, 31 May 2021 and SunMed Convention Centre has been repurposed as a vaccination centre to serve the needs of the public.

Since Phase One of the National Immunisation Programme, Sunway Medical Centre was a Zon Pemberian Vaksin (ZPV) and supported the programme by vaccinating frontliners from 12 private hospitals across the Klang Valley.
“Our hospital is well equipped and ready to serve the needs of the public. A dedicated team
of medical and non-medical professionals ensures that senior citizens are served efficiently
and their comfort are well taken care,” said Dr Seow Vei Ken, Medical Director of Sunway
Medical Centre.
He adds on, “While vaccination is a key step in helping to curb the pandemic, we must
continue to observe the necessary public health measures such as social distancing, wearing of mask and good hand hygiene practices until we have successfully achieve herd immunity together. This is very important and should not be taken lightly.”
