THE SS15 commercial area looked a lot cleaner after a major cleanup by the Taiwan Buddhist Tzuchi Foundation last month.
Foundation members joined hands with ADUN Subang Jaya Michelle Ng and MBSJ MPP Zon 1 to carry out a half-day plogging initiative on the roads and back lanes of the area.
Items which could be recycled were collected by members as they walked along the roads and back lanes, armed with huge plastic bags to collect the trash. Members separated the rubbish they picked up on the spot as the “cleared” the streets of litter, discarded bottles and containers and even items which were indiscriminately thrown away.
The activity also gave members the opportunity to exercise as they walked around the area, chalking up thousands of steps and breaking some sweat as they carried out their initiative.
