TAN SUI LIN – STAYING HOME TO FIGHT COVID-19

It’s now 33 days since we’ve all stayed home in the joint efforts to fight Covid-19. The Movement Control Order which was first implemented on March 18 2020 has restricted our movement in a bid to bring down the curve of infection from the “invisible” virus.

We ambushed business entrepreneur Tan Sui Lin to ask her what it’s like to be “trapped” at home during the MCO. The hustle and bustle in her daily work and family life has now simmered down to working from home and staying home. Here’s what she revealed:

How are you coping with the MCO? What are you doing to keep your time occupied?

I try to keep to my daily routine. I wake up as usual in the morning around 7ish, exercise (yoga, HIT) and do some meditation. By the time I am done, I make breakfast for the family before I start working. Being at home means I take a break from work to cook lunch. I continue working until it’s time to cook dinner. After the meal, I wash up and watch TV, listen to music, do some stretching and meditation before hitting the sack.

Are you happy to get more time to spend with the family? Tell us how you are doing this?

Yes it’s wonderful to have the family together but it’s taxing having to work and care for family’s needs. Nonetheless, am thankful we have a home so no complaints.

Have you found new hobbies while staying at home?

I don’t need hobbies at this point of the MCO.  My existing “jobs” keep me extremely busy.

How are you keeping fit and alert at home? Have you gained weight?

I have lost weight actually. I follow my one hour yoga, weights lifting and HIT followed by 15mins meditation.

How are you keeping abreast with the news on Covid-19 and MCO?

I have plenty to keep me posted and abreast with news – Facebook, WhatsApp chats, KKM,Telegram

What’s your advise to everyone?

Stay home and count your blessings. Take a day at a time.
