I’ve been in many social and professional settings where the way someone introduces another makes me cringe. “This is Richard, he’s in IT, a good guy, and good friend for many years”. While we get some information from this introduction, there are still many missing pieces and this introduction doesn’t connect Richard to the group or the audience in any way.

Do not repeat his or her name throughout the introduction, only the final worlds at the end so that people can remember his or her name and this way of introduction creates positive ripples for the speaker to start her presentation.
