MOTORISTS especially those wishing to exit from USJ1 via Persiaran Subang Permai will have to bear with the notorious traffic crawl a bit longer while waiting for the construction and completion of the exit to Kesas Highway, according to Subang Jaya Mayor Dato’ Amirul Azizan bin Dato’ Sri Abd Rahim said.
According to Amirul, the council was going all out to expedite the completion of the exit to Kesas Highway at the junction of Persiaran Subang Permai-Persiaran Subang Mewah near Regalia USJ1.
“We have to take this alternative exit as the earlier planned Persiaran Subang Permai-Persiaran Kewajipan flyover project has hit a snag.”
“The cost of the flyover has skyrocketed by RM19mil because of utilities discovered underground. We have to do a proper study first before we decide to proceed with the flyover. We do not have utilities mapping underground,” he said.
Amirul said the council was in the process of mutual termination with the contractor who was awarded the project.
“After we have settled the mutual termination, we will have the barriers along the site removed. So, please bear with us for the time being,” he added.
The multi-million-ringgit structure was to start from somewhere after Mydin USJ1 along Persiaran Subang Permai and head out towards Persiaran Kewajipan in the direction of the Kesas Highway intersection.
The pedestrian bridge across Persiaran Subang Permai between the USJ7 LRT Station and Da Men Mall was dismantled to accommodate the height of the flyover which will be passing overhead.
The trees along the stretch of road in USJ2 parallel to Persiaran Kewajipan have been felled. This was to be the alignment of the flyover when it gradually comes down to Persiaran Kewajipan.
