USJ12 Residents Turn Neighbourhood Pride into Action with Simple but Powerful Back Lane Makeover Initiative

If you’re a resident of USJ12/1, here’s your chance to roll up your sleeves and be part of something meaningful for your neighbourhood!

The USJ12/1 Residents Association has launched a hands-on community initiative aimed at sprucing up the back lanes in the area and all it takes is a brush, a can of paint, and a little bit of neighbourly spirit.

Speaking about the effort, Residents Association chairman Izzaham Idris shared that the back lane gates along the roads in USJ12/1 are in need of a fresh coat of paint. Instead of waiting around, the community decided to take matters into their own hands.

“Many hands make lighter work. If residents come forward to help, we will provide the paint and brush,” he said.

Residents who are keen to get involved can contact Izzaham directly at 013-362 8400 to be part of the initiative and help repaint the gates along their own streets.

The initiative was first promoted during the USJ12 Family Day held in December last year, where Izzaham and his team set up a booth to spread the word. The event itself was buzzing with energy, featuring various activities, food and drinks stalls, as well as booths selling pre-loved items.

Despite heavy rain pouring down that morning, residents still turned up in force with umbrellas in hand showing strong support for the event and the community-driven efforts behind it.

With simple actions and collective effort, the USJ12/1 community is proving that keeping a neighbourhood clean and cheerful doesn’t always require big budgets, just willing hands and a shared sense of pride.
