It wasn’t fireworks that woke up USJ13 residents at 4:30am on February 21—it was a high-speed chase straight out of an action movie!
In the early morning darkness, a Perodua Myvi carrying four men smashed through the barrier at the USJ13 guardhouse, with a police patrol car in hot pursuit from Persiaran Tujuan. The dramatic scene unfolded just as dawn was breaking, sending residents scrambling to their windows to witness the chaos.
The Great Escape… That Wasn’t
The fleeing vehicle tore down a residential road in USJ13 before the suspects attempted to exit onto another road leading back to Persiaran Tujuan. But here’s where their plan fell apart literally.
Finding the exit blocked by heavy barrels, the four suspects abandoned their vehicle and bolted on foot. One unlucky suspect stumbled and fell, making it easy pickings for the officers in the patrol car. The other three suspects were caught on CCTV fleeing across Persiaran Tujuan towards USJ9, where they remain at large.
What Really Happened?
According to Subang Jaya OCPD ACP Wan Azlan Wan Mamat, the patrol car had initially spotted the suspicious vehicle along Persiaran Tujuan. When officers signaled for the car to stop, the driver hit the gas instead, triggering the dramatic chase that followed.
“We successfully arrested one suspect and are now looking for the other three. Anyone with information of the suspects can contact the nearest police station,” he said.
So if you’re one of those USJ13 residents who thought you were dreaming at 4:30am that morning; nope, that really happened! The police are still hunting for the three suspects who managed to escape on foot.
