USJ5 Residents Association Step Up to Protect Our Frontliners

CHARITY begins at home and that is what members of the USJ5 Residents Association displayed when they presented Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) suits to members of Subang Jaya’s community ambulance recently.

Fifty PPE suits imported all the way from Taiwan were purchased by the association for the ambulance to ensure they remain safe while attending to emergencies in the community.

“We were concerned when we heard about the urgent need by the ambulance team for the PPE suits. So we passed the hat around our neighbourhood and raised sufficient funds to purchase the suits, which are washable.”

“The ambulance serves the community and as such, the community is obliged to protect them as well,” USJ5RA president Dato Jimmy Lim said at a simple ceremony to hand over the suits and also latex gloves.

Also present at the handing over was ADUN Subang Jaya Michelle Ng, MPSJ JKP Zone 4 councillor Kamarul Hisham, and the association members Dato Lim See Teok, Datin Jenny Liu and Lore Yuen Shoon.

“We would like to say a big Thank You to everyone in USJ5RA who are concerned about protecting our ambulance team. Special thanks to Dato Jimmy, Datin Jenny, Dato Lim, Mr WT Leong, Lore, Mr CK Khoo and Mr Allan Yap who donated the PPE suits.”

“We are humbled by the concern for our team’s safety,” SJ Beacon operations director Kelvin Chew said after receiving the suits.

Kelvin also thanked Mr Barry and his wife Mdm Lee Pek Hwa who donated 6 PPE suits earlier on.
