Abandoned Baby: Subang Jaya Cops Seek Public Help to Locate Parents

SUBANG JAYA police are seeking public help to locate the parents of the abandoned 6-weeks old baby.

Subang Jaya OCPD ACP Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said anyone with information on the whereabouts of the baby’s mother or father can contact 017-9149376 (SJN SHARIFAH FATIMAH MARHIDAYANI SYED MUHAMMAD) or call 03-78627100 (PUSAT KAWALAN DAERAH,SUBANG JAYA).

“The case is being investigated under Seksyen 317 of the Penal Code,” he said.

Under this section, whoever, being the father or mother of a child under the age of twelve years, or having the care of such child, exposes or leaves such child in any place with the intention of wholly abandoning such child, shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to seven years or with fine or with both.

The baby was then rushed to Shah Alam Hospital by the Subang Jaya Community Ambulance team who responded and arrived in four minutes to attend to it.

The system should not be quick to judge. We need consider how we can help or support a mums and/or dads in such circumstances. I stand ready to walk together with the authorities in order to achieve the best outcome for the mum and/or dad and child in this case.
