Couple Arrested for Snatch Theft in Subang Jaya

SUBANG JAYA, AUGUST 26 2019: AT least 16 snatch theft cases in Subang Jaya is believed to have been solved following the arrest of a couple in their 20s in USJ9 on August 23.

Subang Jaya OCPD ACP Risikin Satiman said the couple were recently arrested by a special police team set up to put an end to their criminal activities.

“We believe we have solved at least 16 snatch theft cases with the confessions made by the couple. We are still investigating if they were involved in other crimes in Subang Jaya or Klang Valley.”

“Their latest cases was on July 24 when they snatched the bag of a 69-year-old female victim in USJ6,” he said.

Risikin said in the incident, the victim lost her handbag which contained personal documents, a mobile phone and wallet which contained RM60. She was not injured in the incident.

“We recovered 3 motorcycles and other items which we believe was used in the perpetration of their crimes. Both suspects had no previous criminal records,” he added.

Both suspects will be remanded until August 28 to help in investigations.
