USJ2 Resident Almost Loses One Eye in “Flying Stone” Incident

A USJ2 resident almost lost the sight of one eye after shattered glass from his side window entered his left eye on April 30 2023.

According to Chin Chee Wai, he had stopped at the red light at the Persiaran Murni-Persiaran Kewajipan intersection near Da Men when the window on his driver’s side was shattered by a rock.

“I immediately alighted from my car and noticed a man by the roadside. I called the police and while waiting, with help by passersby we apprehended the man.”

“I later discovered that both my side windows were shattered. I sustained cuts on my left arm and also both my eyes,” he said in his police report.

The suspect was apprehended by Chin and passersby before he was handed over to the police

Chin said he was told by his eye specialist that if the glass had gone any further in, he would have been blinded on his left eye.

Subang Jaya OCPD ACP Wan Azlan Wan Mamat confirmed receiving a police report over the incident.

“We have remanded the suspect to help in our investigations,” he said.

Wan Azlan said it was too early to conclude why the suspect threw the rock at the car.

Based on Chin’s account of the incident, the suspect could be mentally unstable.
