Nancy Nais, an award-winning journalist from Sarawak, is preparing for her third ascent of Malaysia’s highest peak, Mount Kinabalu, this year. Her mission is to raise funds for ailing children in need. Having successfully completed solo climbs in February and July, guided by Mount Kinabalu’s international champion, Safrey Sumping, Nancy is determined to make a difference once again.

Mount Kinabalu, soaring 4,095 meters above sea level, stands as Malaysia’s highest peak and ranks as the third-highest island peak on Earth. Located in the Ranau district, West Coast Division of Sabah, it presents a challenging and awe-inspiring experience for climbers.

With a goal to raise RM40,950 for the Children Wish Society of Malaysia (CWS), Nancy’s ambition goes beyond conquering the mountain. CWS, established 16 years ago, dedicates its efforts to granting wishes to children suffering from terminal and life-threatening illnesses, offering them moments of hope and joy.

CWS reaches out to approximately 50 to 60 children each year, providing much-needed support during their difficult times. Nancy’s dedication to this cause is truly inspiring, and her fundraising efforts will undoubtedly make a significant impact on the lives of these young ones.

For those willing to contribute to this noble cause, donations can be made directly to Persatuan Impian Kanak Kanak Malaysia through CIMB Bank Acct: 8002610507, with the reference ‘GoNancyGo.’

Nancy’s commitment to climbing Mount Kinabalu multiple times to raise funds for ailing children showcases the power of determination and compassion in making a positive change in the lives of those who need it most. Her actions exemplify the spirit of giving and inspire others to support charitable initiatives and lend a helping hand to those facing difficult circumstances.

CWS Malaysia is a Subang Jaya based charity dedicated to fulfilling wishes of ailing children across the country.
