Fire Partially Destroys Prayer Altar in USJ23 Home

QUICK action by a house owner in USJ23 successfully extinguished a fire that broke out at the prayer altar this morning.

Firemen from two stations – SS17 and Puchong Fire & Rescue Department who arrived at the scene after receiving a call at 835am found the fire had been extinguished.

SS17 Fire & Rescue Department chief Syed Shahril Anuar Syed Sulaiman said 10 per cent of the ground floor was affected.

“Firemen checked the affected area to make sure no embers could ignite again. We found no structural damage to the house and there were no casualties,” he said.

Syed Shahril said the affected area was the prayer altar.
