Mid-afternoon Fire Destroys USJ16 Shoplot

A mid-afternoon fire destroyed a double-storey shoplot in USJ16.

The fire was first detected by the neighbouring hardware and convenience shop owner who alerted the Fire & Rescue Department.

SS17 Fire & Rescue Department chief Syed Shahril Anuar Syed Sulaiman who was at the scene said fire engines from Subang Jaya and Puchong rushed to the scene and managed to prevent the fire from spreading to neighbouring lots.

At the time of the fire, no one was inside the affected shoplot.

Syed Shahril said the cause of the fire will be investigated once the team’s Forensic Unit checks the affected building.
