SUBANG JAYA: SYABU with a street value of RM882,000 was seized by Subang Jaya Police following the arrest of three men in Bandar Sunway on June 18 2020.
Subang Jaya OCPD ACP Risikin Satiman said 21kg of Methamphetamine was discovered after a special task force stopped two vehicles around PJS11/5 and found ‘suspicious’ looking packs of Chinese Tea in one of the vehicles.
“Our officers were making their rounds between 730pm to 830pm in the area when they spotted two vehicles. They stopped the vehicles.”
“Three men – a Bangladeshi contract worker and two local unemployed men were detained. The foreigner and one of the locals tested positive for Methamphetamine when we ran a urine test later,” he said, adding that the third man did not have traces of drugs in his urine but had 8 criminal records in the police records.
“Officers also found RM10,000 in cash. The trio have been remanded for seven days to facilitate investigations under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.”
“We are also investigating their known associates and the network which they are involved in. It is our objective to determine if the drugs were for local consumption or Subang Jaya is being used as a transit,” he added.
Risikin urged members of the public to call the police if they noticed any suspicious activity in their neighbourhood, to help stem the drug trade.
