A middle-aged man who has a habit of stealing plants from houses was caught on a car camera while in the act.
On Dec 20 2024 just after midnight, the suspect was spotted alighting from his vehicle in the heavy rain with an umbrella.
He snooped around the entrance of a house, unaware that his activity was being recorded by the vehicle parked behind him.
The suspect crouched right in front of the vehicle (car camera recording) and looked for the plant he had probably targeted earlier in the daytime and immediately grabbed it before fleeing the scene.
According to Kawasan Rukun Tetangga SS15/2 & SS15/3 deputy chairman Michael Sundram, the house owner found the plant she had kept for 30 years missing in the morning.
“The resident who recorded the theft shared with us the footage from his car camera.”
“This man has been rampantly stealing plants from houses and even stole some from our community cabin area,” he said.
Michael said the KRT will be lodging a police report in the hope that the authorities will be able to track down the suspect from the vehicle number recorded in the footage.
