IN a continuous effort to reduce the population of rats in Subang Jaya, MBSJ’s MPP Zon 3 successfully bagged 63 rodents in their recent Ops Tikus with the council’s health department.

The dead rats which came in different sizes were collected by the council’s personnel with the help of volunteers from the community.

MBSJ MPP Zon 3 councillor Ken Chia said the effort was a continuous drive to reduce the population of rodents especially in the commercial areas like USJ9.

MBSJ had placed poisoned baits the night before, coming back to collect the casualties from the exercise the morning after.

β€œBusiness owners especially food operators can play their role by ensuring that their food waste is packed properly for disposal. Don’t leave your food waste out where the rats can feed. Don’t throw your food waste into the drains as well,” Ken said.

The commercial areas in Taipan USJ9 and USJ10 are the target to reduce and eventually eradicate the rodent problem.
