Ailing Girl Gets Her Wish Fulfilled at Sunway Lagoon

SIX-year-old Nur Izzati Binti Mohd Muryadi always talks about and watches videos on theme parks and had expressed her wish to go to one with her family.

An active girl who loves cycling and the outdoors, Nur Izzati is now however confined to a wheelchair while seeking treatment for her condition – Posterior Fossa Ependymoma (an ependymoma is a rare type of primary brain or spinal cord tumor).

When the Children’s Wish Society of Malaysia conveyed her wish to visit Sunway Lagoon, the theme park team immediately said YES to her visit. Meticulous arrangements were made to make her visit exciting and memorable for Nur Izzati and her family.

Accompanied by CWS Malaysia board members and volunteers Loo Yan Jing, Kok Yi Syuan and her brother Yik Lerk, Izzati and family were treated to a day filled with visits to the wildlife park and also the water theme park.

At the white tigers enclosure, Izzati had the rare opportunity to have an eye-to-eye “chit-chat” with one of the tigers which came right up to the glass partition to say “hello”. She sportingly waved at the tiger who looked at her curiously.

Sunway Lagoon laid out the red carpet for Izzati and her family as they made their way around the theme park – bird and animal feeding, lunch and finally at the water theme park where they had a whale of a time wading in the shallow waters at the beach.

CWS Malaysia president TH Teoh thanked the management of Sunway Lagoon for responding immediately to Izzati’s wish to visit the theme park.

“CWS is very happy to work with Sunway Theme Parks to fulfill wishes of ailing children across the country. We’ve had invaluable support from the team with the numerous wishes we had received for Sunway’s Lost World of Tambun in Perak as well.”

“Together we bring smiles back to children who are stricken with life-limiting ailments. Thank you Sunway Theme Parks,” he said while accompanying Izzati and her family on their fun day out.
