Police are investigating the discovery of a decomposed body found by the riverbank near Taylor’s College in Bandar Sunway on Thursday evening.
According to Subang Jaya OCPD ACP Wan Azlan Wan Mamat, the discovery was reported at around 7.10pm on October 31 when a member of the public contacted the Bandar Sunway Police Station after spotting the body near the river.
“Initial investigations at the scene found the body clad only in long pants. Based on its physical condition, it is believed the individual had been dead for some time,” he said in a statement.
No identification documents were found at the scene, and police have yet to determine the victim’s identity or ethnicity. “A physical examination could not be conducted on-site due to the condition of the remains,” he added.
The body has since been sent to the Forensic Department of the University of Malaya Medical Centre (PPUM) for a post-mortem to determine the cause of death and to identify the deceased.
The case has been classified as a Sudden Death Report (SDR) pending the full post-mortem results and further investigation.
